Folding the rear seats
Our bongo has split rear seats – one advantge of this is being able to fold them up, either indvidually or both. The space it gives is really great. We need the space to get Monica’s mobility scooter into.
The clearance is pretty low. I’m waiting to see how heavy the mobility scooter is before getting some ramps, it might just be as easy to lift the scooter in without needint the outlay and having to carry around a set of ramps.
From the center door there is plenty of room still, here the chairs are all the way forward and with one seat setup for use as a table.
Now setup as a 3-seater and pushed back to the folded rear seats. There is plenty of leg room and enough room for the scooter. This will really help when Monica’s friends come to visit or we just decide to go out with the bongo and the scooter.
The seats really fold up neatly, there is two strong hooks to attach the frame. Even with 20 years on the bongo, all the straps and locking mechanisims are in really good order. Will give the carpet a clean and a hoover before using properly tho.
It took a matter of a few seconds to fold the seats back down and re-secure them. The bongo really is a versitle vehnicle. I wouldnt of got one before, but with guests and a flat move on the horizion, will get some great utility (and cost savings !) out of it.
With the back seats back in place, i put the memory-foam matress back in place ready for camping. The roof one is already fitted, will take pics when next in use.
All the seats back in position – what an amazing vehicle the bongo is !
